Keeping it all in perspective…

Being a mother of two teenagers I can now appreciate what I was not able to when the girls were younger.  “I wish that I knew then what I know now”…. Yet lucky for me, I have some time left before the girls are done with high school to let them succeed and fail and learn those invaluable lessons.

I spent many hours worrying about the small details that I was the only one who noticed anyway. One of my preoccupations was to do for my daughters more than I was able to give in resources like time, energy and money. I did not listen to the many that raised their children before me and you may end up doing the same. The goal with this blog is to create awareness in the young parents to allow their children to do many things for themselves. I am not referring to an infant doing toddler activities or a young boy or girl taking on unnecessary risk or an under sixteen driving without a supervising adult. I am talking about all those things we parents do that contribute to the state of exhaustion that we may be experiencing.
To remain level headed and finding joy in the midst of dealing with our busy lives is the greatest legacy we can leave to our family and ourselves. Take a deep breath as much as possible and show your children that you trust them to do their best by allowing them to take the world a little at a time on as they grow.

Inspiring Big Courage in Children

We found that children have many items as well as relationships that foster Courage. The personal items that foster

It is every parents desire to see their children relax and enjoy a visit to the dentist. Our team shares the same desires and that is why we decided to focus on the little things that inspire big COURAGE in children.

Some of the children had a very special someone like a relative or friend that they knew would be proud of how well they did at the dentist. It was amazing to see how these relationships foster Courage and ability to do things perceive unattainable. The human spirit and ability to excel is incredible.

The last few weeks we took pictures of children of all ages with a variety of items that foster COURAGE as well as having that special someone that would be proud of their effort in doing well in any situation. We are sharing these pictures with the permission of these families. Our goal is to remind us all to have little items as well as people that foster our COURAGE and allow us to be our best.
